Cognitive Analytical Therapist
Rachel is a qualified Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) practitioner with 6 years experience. Rachel is accredited by the Association for Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT) and has 10 years experience working for the NHS offering therapeutic interventions to clients age 16-65, experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties, including anxiety, depression, bi-polar and personality disorder.
CAT is a collaborative programme for looking at the way a person thinks, feels and acts and the events and relationships that underlie these experiences (often from childhood). It is a time-limited therapy-between 4 and 24 weeks, but typically 16.
Rachel is also a qualified Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Practitioner and whilst she does not offer offer formal DBT, these skills can be used within the CAT sessions to help clients think about helpful coping strategies.
