About Us

How we can help

At JSA, we believe each person we see is an individual. No two sets of challenges or needs are the same, so why should the therapies be?

That’s a commendable idea in theory. The difference with JSA is, we have such a range of expertise, we can and do operate this way, always.

Our dedicated professionals offer a range of different psychology and psychotherapy services. We receive referrals from the legal, corporate, health, local government and education sectors.

The JSA team operates as consultants to collectively provide a truly holistic approach. They can be referred to a specialist within the psychotherapy team, all done seamlessly in-house.

And every course does not have the same six or eight week length. People, as we say, are individuals and respond at different rates. So treatment periods are flexible. We can’t imagine how it could be any other way.

Other reasons to choose JSA:

  • We respond quickly. For example, we know that getting a prompt assessment can be vital when the clock is ticking on care proceedings. As a private practice we have the flexibility to prioritise urgent cases but also avoid lengthy waiting lists for treatments.

  • Our staff are highly qualified, holding Doctorates, Masters and first degrees in relevant disciplines. Between us we hold membership of eight professional bodies including the British Psychological Society, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and the British Association for Sexual and Relationship Therapy.

  • JSA is accredited to offer specific therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and EMDR. In addition we will soon be submitting the quality assurance procedures of our practice for Ofsted approval.

  • Our consultants are both vastly experienced and at the cutting-edge of modern practice. So they are professionally powerful, self-assured and confident. They have worked with some very vulnerable people and will always represent their interests effectively and robustly.

  • We care. Not just for each and every client but also those who find themselves in sudden, unexpected need of help. On the morning after the Manchester Arena bombing, JSA was talking to the authorities, offering free counselling and other services to the injured, their families and members of the emergency services.

Founded in 2003 by Julie Stirpé, JSA has grown into one of the UK’s leading private practices for psychology and psychotherapy services.
