When we refer to having taken on a Public Law case at JSA, we refer to any case involving the Local Authority and Child Protection/Children’s Services. These are the cases where children have been removed from parental care and placed in ‘out of home care’ for their safety and wellbeing. JSA will play a role in such cases by providing assessments that will help the Court to make an informed decision regarding the future of the child.
Private Law cases that JSA work within involve matters of separation, divorce and family breakdown, where a child is affected as part of this scenario. Our involvement and expertise in these cases is centred around professionally assisting the Court in making decisions relating to contact, conflict and parental alienations, and the therapeutic intervention that we can provide in order to resolve these issues.
