  1. JSA Psychotherapy smashes Corporate Challenge target two months early!

Comments Off on JSA Psychotherapy smashes Corporate Challenge target two months early!

The whole team at JSA Psychotherapy are excited to share the news that our target of £1000 for the Pendleside Hospice Corporate Challenge has already been met, thanks to the generosity of our clients, sponsors and each member of staff within the organisation.

2018 is the first year JSA Psychotherapy and sister company Life Change Care have taken part in the Corporate Challenge. Pendleside Hospice is a charity that’s close to all of our hearts, and so we signed up as soon as we could. We can’t think of a better way to honouring our commitment to corporate social responsibility than by helping to support such an important local institution.

The most important way that we succeeded in meeting our goal so quickly was by getting so many people involved. To begin with, we provided Smarties tubes to each member of the operations team. These tubes are the perfect size to fit off bits of change, so we approached people to to fill them which 20p pieces and £1 coins. These were filled rapidly, helping us to get our challenge well underway.

One of our most popular fundraising activities was the American themed BBQ day we held on the 4th of July, America’s Independence Day. At this one-off special event we hosted a raffle and sold delicious BBQ food and cakes. The event turned out to be such a success that we’re already planning a similar event for later in the year, this time involving a hog roast.

JSA Psychotherapy and Life Change Care will also be sponsoring a table at the Pendleside Hospice Corporate Challenge awards evening. We’ll be sponsoring a stand at the Burnley Colour Run too, showing our support for everyone taking part in this colourful new event.

Since we’ve already made such a confident start and met our original target with time to spare, we’re now raising our target to £1500. We hope everyone who’s been so generous already will help us to raise even more money to support an amazing local charity.

  2. JSA Psychotherapy boosts growth with new apprentice Natasha Hudson

Comments Off on JSA Psychotherapy boosts growth with new apprentice Natasha Hudson

Burnley-based psychology and psychotherapy practice JSA Psychotherapy has experienced huge success since it was founded in 2003 by therapist and managing director Julie Stirpé. Now in its 15th year, the team has expanded once more, bringing in the talents of apprentice Natasha Hudson.

After leaving St John Fisher and Thomas More Roman Catholic High School, Colne local Natasha studied her A Levels at Burnley College. Rather than head to university, she decided she’d rather get to grips with her career as soon as possible. Her work ethic has always been exceptional – even during her A Level studies she pushed herself to gain customer service skills in her part-time job at Tesco’s Padiham store.

Now training as an apprentice Administrator on a L2 Business apprenticeship with Themis at Burnley College, Natasha hopes to gain as much experience as possible at JSA Psychotherapy as she can. She said about her new role at the practice:

“I was really intrigued to find out more about what does on within this unique business, and I was very interested in trying something new. I was looking for an apprenticeship that would help me gain new skills and give me a clear understanding of all levels of business administration. I chose JSA Psychotherapy because they could offer me all of that – as well as enabling me to learn about their range of therapies and how our team helps and support clients in person and online.”

“Everyone is so friendly here. As soon as I arrived for my interview I felt welcome and I knew I wanted to be a part of their team.”

It’s not all desk-work for Natasha, either. As a valued member of the JSA Psychotherapy family, part of her role includes regular opportunities to visit the practice’s equine centre, where the JSA therapeutic animals are cared for.

Julie Stirpé, Managing Director said about Natasha’s appointment:

“We’re so happy to welcome Natasha into our happy team of professionals! From the very start we could see her potential, and we hope that we can help support Natasha with her ambitious career goals within our team as we continue expanding our practice.”

For more information about apprenticeship opportunities available at JSA Psychotherapy, or to learn about any of their current vacancies, contact office@jsapsychotherapy.com stating your full name, contact details and relevant CV and cover letter.

Comments Off on Julie Stirpe: Healing with the Herd in Horse & Rider Magazine

Julie Stirpe has been interviewed  for the latest addition of Horse & Rider, a nationally recognized horse and equine monthly magazine.

The cover feature entitled “Healing with the herd” can be found on Pages 60 to 64. Healing with the herd explores the equine psychotherapy industry, and its benefits to children & adults whom have suffered traumatic experiences.

An online copy can be found here for pages 60 to 61 introducing the article and providing part of Julie’s experience. However further pages exploring the depths of equine psychotherapy are only available in the September addition of the magazine itself, which can be purchased online or in stores across the country.

Julie Stirpe would like to thank the Horse & Rider magazine personally for this wonderful cover feature and well written article. The article has been published at a very exciting time for JSA, as Julie travels across the pond to work with Monty Roberts himself and hopes to incorporate this into our rider recovery programme which shall be released later this year. More on Julie’s trip to the states will be published soon.

After her recent success at the Mottram Spring Show, we are delighted to announce that Polly Panda came 6th in the Rihs Ridden Skewbald/Piebald Heavyweights/Cobs/Traditionals & Vanners exceeding 153c class.

A huge congratulations to Polly Panda for this marvelous achievement, and good luck to Polly and the team for the Longridge Show on the 5th of July.
