Rachel has worked with children as a trained teacher for 10 years before qualifying as a play therapist. Having worked in a school setting, Rachel specialises in working with children in EYFS, primary ages and children with special educational needs. Working with both individual children and groups, Rachel has 200+ hours of working with children who have experienced adverse childhood trauma and difficulties within the family unit. She is qualified in an attachment based program called Parent Child Attachment Play, which aims to work with parents and carers on building a secure and positive attachment, repairing or establishing relationships.
Rachel is passionate about extending the impact of her work beyond intervention with children alone, and has worked with parents on an educational and behaviour basis to provide integrative family support at home. She is also a qualified swimming instructor and sports coach. Rachel holds a BA hons in Primary education, a PGDIP in Play Therapy, and a certificate in Parent Child Attachment Play.
